Raise A Planning Complaint

Once you have confirmed there is no planning permission in place you can raise a complaint via the Planning Enforcement Portal.
Click on the "Report a Potential Planning Breach" button -
- Confirm you searched the council website by selecting "Council website search",
- Select "Yes" to "Does the building work require planning permission?"
- Select "No" to "Does the building work have planning permission from the Council?"
- Click "Next" to continue,
- Click "Begin" to start the report process, ensure you have pictures to support your report,
- Enter the "Postcode" UB4 8BJ and click "Find Address",
- From the "Address" drop down box, select 8 Raynton Close,
- Select "No" to "Do you know the name of the person responsible for the alleged breach?",
- Click "Next" to continue,
- From the dropdown chose either -
- HMO with 7 or more persons,
- Outbuilding being lived in,
- Large outbuilding, or
- Unlawful subdivision of a property.
- Enter 01/12/2025 as the date this occurred,
- Select "None of the above" for "Does the house/building you are reporting fall under any of the list below"
- Enter details on of the planning breach. This will differ depending on where you live relative to the address but you can use some of the details provided above.
- Attach three pictures to support your complaint. These should be taken from your vantage point. E.g. If you live next-door, take them from your property both from the front and from your garden, or if you live behind, take pictures from your garden of what you see of the outbuilding.
- Click "Next" to continue,
- On the "Your Details" page, enter your personal details as required.
- Click "Next to continue",
- Review your answers and go back and edit them if needed,
- Once you're happy, click "Submit".
Once you have submitted your complaint you will get an acknowledgement letter via e-mail within a couple of weeks. This will contain a complaint reference number which should be included in all communications and updates to the planning e-mail address.
